Single Whip

This is one of the move well known movements in Tai Chi that is at part of many Tai Chi forms.

In the first week you will begin by learning the basic tai chi position, which will help you get the chi flowing through your body. When you learn the correct posture the energy can flow freely and get blocked. Chi is our life force and the easier it can flow the more energized we feel.

In the second week I will introduce you to some important basic stances called the horse stance and the warrior stance. We need to start practicing those stances to build up muscle memory and strength.

In the third lesson, you will start to work with the energy we call Chi to learn how it feels.

The fourth week you will learn another important stance called the resting stance, which will help, you make transitions between the other stances.

In weeks 5 - 9 you will learn to do the tai chi walk and how to move forward and backwards and use the arms in synchronization with the walk.

For the remainder of the course I will add a new drills that comes from the Tai Chi form that we can practice to get used to transitioning between the stances and also building up in coordination using the arms.
