The Traditional Basics Course
In the first week, you will start by learning the foundational Tai Chi position, designed to help energy, or Qi, flow freely through your body. By mastering proper posture, you create the ideal conditions for Qi to circulate, enhancing your vitality and leaving you feeling energized.
In the second week, you'll focus on two fundamental stances: the horse stance and the warrior stance. Practicing these stances helps build muscle memory and strength, laying the groundwork for more advanced movements.
In the third lesson, you'll begin to sense and work with Qi, the life force energy. Youâll learn how to recognize its flow and experience the sensation of energy moving to your hands.
In the fourth week, youâll add the resting stance to your practice. This posture is essential for smoothly transitioning between other Tai Chi movements, supporting balance and flow.
Weeks 5 through 9 focus on mastering variations of the Tai Chi walk. You'll start by learning how to walk forward and backward with precision and balance. As the weeks progress, you'll synchronize arm movements with the walk, creating a harmonious flow between your upper and lower body.
During weeks 10 through 12, new drills will enhance your coordination, balance, and synchronization of arms and legs. You'll refine your ability to transition seamlessly between stances while deepening your connection to the Tai Chi principles.
Each lesson includes engaging, free-flowing video tutorials to support your practice. Additionally, by joining the Traditional Basics course, youâll gain access to a private Facebook group where you can connect with Leia, ask questions, and receive personalized guidance.
To further enhance your learning, you can join live Zoom classes, where students of all levels come together. After a 30-minute freestyle practice, Leia will answer your questions and provide additional support to help you refine your Tai Chi journey.

2 Traditional Tai Chi Forms
8 Step and 11 Step forms
A traditional Tai Chi form is a sequence of slow, flowing movements designed to cultivate balance and build strength. A key feature of Tai Chi is the shifting of weight from one leg to the other, improving balance and grounding. Many movements follow circular patterns, reflecting the artâs principle of harmony and continuity, and are coordinated with the breath.Â
The 8 Step form:
This is a culmination of all that you will learn in the Traditional Basics course. All the drills you have been practicing in this course will be put together in a lovely short form that you can easily learn and practice.Â
The 11 Step form:
This form will prepare you for the Platinum membership where you wills start by learning the 28 step form as it is practiced in Wudang China. It is a bit more complicated but you will have learned all the movements in the Traditional Basics course and it is still short enough to master easliy.  Â

Each step in these forms is performed with deliberate intention, so that you stay present and connect to the inner workings of your body. Memorizing movement will sharpen your brain and help you maintain mental clarity to accomplish your goals.Â

What Leia's students are saying...

Carolyn (Nov 2024)
I just want to say thank you.Â
Iâm probably on your top 10 worst student list but after every practice class I learn something that stays with me.Â
I think you are a wonderful teacher.Â

Joan and Al (Oct 2024)
Dear Teacher,
A note to say thank you because Al passed his (77th) yearly physical with excellent numbers. I won't go into specifics but to say that the doc was impressed with Al's results and Al explained to him about all that we do in qi gong and Tai chi.
Today in our regimen, we did the last class you posted on a qi gong seminar.Â
So anyway, thanks for your continued teaching.âşď¸

Janet (Aug 2024)
During the long Canadian winter of 2022, my husband suggested we try Tai Chi. I have to admit I had no real idea what it is, but I was enthusiastic to give it a try.
I Â was in the midst of recovering from my third hip replacement, and struggling with the consequent muscle weakness and balance deficit.
We researched âwho is the best online Tai Chi teacher?â Well, of course, Leiaâs name came up!
So, we subscribed to Leiaâs YouTube channel and we started doing the âTai Chi 5 Minutes a Dayâ videos every day. We also tried other Tai Chi teaching videos, but nothing and nobody came close to Leiaâs flair or fun.
A few weeks later I decided I just had to sign up to her program. I chose the Gold program because it covers all the basics, includes the Silver Flow program, and has live classes.
Since the pandemic, I have grown very comfortable with virtual interaction, and I absolutely love the live Zoom classes. I enjoy receiving Leiaâs feedback and guidance. The classes are very energetic and enjoyable, as are all the programâs videos.
Iâve only just begun my Tai Chi journey, and I have a long way to go, but I have noticed significant improvement in my strength, balance and flexibility.
I have noted improvement in my gait, and my movements are becoming more fluid. Having my mobility back is having my freedom back.
Iâm grateful I found this program and am thoroughly enjoying it.
