LESSON: The cost of progress

QUOTE: “Action is the antidote to despair.” ― Joan Baez

SYNOPSIS: I was dealing with the growing environmental destruction on the island, the growing resentment I was feeling for Pierre and the growing tourism that was disturbing our quiet island life. Tourism and environmental terrorism seemed to be synonyms to me and it was deeply disturbing me. As construction noise surrounded me on all sides, the peace I once cherished felt irretrievably lost. Attempts to confront my neighbors failed, leaving me overwhelmed and desperate. Yet, in the face of relentless development and Pierre’s growing withdrawal, I turned my frustration into action.
