LESSON: Building resilience in uncomfortable situations

SYNOPSIS: In September 2014, Olivier wanted to go to school so I packed up the family and moved us to Vancouver.. After a brief and uncomfortable stay with a childhood friend, we faced the challenge of finding housing without local references. We stayed in a unsettling dingy motel while I looked for an apartment to rent. Without the rental agreement the kids were with me and could not go to school. A breakthrough came when a school in my friends neighborhood, accepted the children into school so we moved back to White Rock and checked into a convention center called the Pink Palace.
